Glad to tell you dear readers, my husband Kamal and I, had passed our mid fiftys and are now enjoying life as a government pensioner and a bank retirer.
At last! No more hassle of early morning traffic jams, stacks of office files, incomplete record books or students’ register.
New acquaintances and new places have taken the space in both our heads! And of course new experiences that have opened wide both our eyes and minds.
Since signing our PVC membership in 2000, we have spent our beautiful holidays together in several ‘Home’ and ‘Affiliated’ resorts of
PVC. We’ve never regretted spending our precious time in PVC selected Malaysian holiday getaways. And sincerely we are looking forward for more!
Naming a few, the resorts are Aseania and Perdana Beach Resort both in Langkawi; Paradise Sandy Bay in Penang; PGH Seri Kembangan; Country Villa Kiang; Palm Springs Resort Port Dickson; Riviera Melaka; Impiana Resort Cherating Pahang and Equatorial Hill Resort Cameron Highlands.
There are several other resorts that we have focused in our mind to visit this year they are: The Highlands of Genting and Frasers and also the East Malaysian States of Sabah and Sarawak.
Both of us have visited USA, Canada, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore and part of the Middle East long before we became members of the
PVC. But that doesn’t stop us from visiting Anaheim Disneyland and Hollywood, The Great Wall of China or The Summer Palace in Beijing China again, and this time via our
PVC arrangements. In fact we have in mind to visit the ‘romantic Paris’ or other European countries like what our fellow member Mr. Kuik Cheng Kang and family did as mentioned in
PVC Lifestyle Vol.6.
I take this opportunity to include a few photograph of my beloved family members and places that we have visited together that might stir the interests of other
PVC members and their families to visit and to start packing their bags!
Here, a little about Sarah Irdina, the youngest member of my family who always accompanies us on our holidays. Besides adoring horses Sarah our and only grand daughter who is only four, loves to be in the water! Each time the first mention of going on holiday reaches her ears, Sarah would immediately fussed around her bathing suits! Fearing we might forget to include it in our bags. She simply loves the water and always leaves the pool to the last minute before checking out! There are times she simply refused to obey and we have to persuade and promise her of another visit to another resort and another swimming pool! (Please see Sarah’s expression in the photos while in the pools)
We have frequent stays in PGH and Sarah loves her pictures taken on the two replicated golden horses at the hotel entrance. (Please see her various poses taken in three different years).
About me….after much traveling in and out of the countries; being in many different parts of the world; seeing different people with different cultures; experienced beautiful memories, I, who had spent 25 years of my life in the banking world has turned to serious writing.
My numeral short stories (cerpen) that were published in our malay magazines, had descriptions of various places that I have visited.
My malay novels highlighted overseas rendezvous.’ JALINAN KASIH’ my first novel gives glimpses of Canada. ‘RINDU SEMALAM’ the second novel, has Disneyland and Hollywood background. And the recently published ‘ANDAINYA KUTAHU’ highlighted the enchanted Palace of the Golden Horses, the secret of Beijing, the beauty of Singapore and the sacred lands of Mecca and Madinah.
They are my work of fiction. The characters, incidents and dialogues are products of my imagination but the description of venues are for real. My love for traveling has nurtured my love for writing and the precious time that my family and I had spent, brings us closer together too.
These sudden changes in my life, happened ever since I started to share the love of traveling with members of my family. I sincerely hope this good things will happen to all other members
PVC. Happy holidaying guys! |
